Polydimethylsiloxane functional fluids are mixed with acyloxy silanes of the formula (CH3)2Si(OOCR)2 where R is an alkyl radical of from 5 to 8 carbon atoms. The silane reacts with water thereby preventing accumulation of liquid water in the fluid system. These compositions are useful in hydraulic and damping operations.
