Arrangement for generating a hot gas free from impurities by burning a fuel in a fluidised bed. Heat is generated by burning fuel in a first fluidised bed. A second fluidised bed is arranged adjacent to the first bed so that they are linked for heat exchange. The gas to be heated is directed through the second fluidised bed for maintaining the second bed in fluidised state and for receiving heat from the first fluidised bed. The fluidised medium of the first fluidised bed and the gaseous combustion products from the first fluidised bed are kept separated from the gas to be heated. The generator housing (2) with combustion zone (4) and heating zone (6) are separated by a common heat conducting wall (8) made from a metal which hence separates the first (30) and second (32) fluidised beds.
