An apparatus for setting an output level of a speaker in a multi-channel system is provided to simply set a speaker by uniformly compensating the output level of the speaker caused by a difference of a speaker line through a resistance value of the speaker line. In an apparatus for setting an output level of a speaker in a multi-channel system, a voltage supply unit(104) supplies a voltage to an amplifying unit(102) to control each audio signal volume, and supplies a preset test voltage to the amplifying unit(102) according to a predetermined control signal. A current detecting unit(106) detects a current value applied to each speaker(112,114) according to the preset test voltage. A resistance calculating unit(108) calculates a resistance value for each line and speaker(112,114) according to the current value applied to each speaker(112,114) detected by the current detecting unit(106). A microcomputer(110) stores the preset resistance value of each speaker(112,114), applies the predetermined control signal to the voltage supply unit(104), and controls the voltage supply unit(104) by comparing the resistance value calculated from the resistance calculating unit(108) and the stored preset resistance value. |
