A disinfectant composition comprising methylsalicylate and isothiazolones is provided to be effectively applied for removing fungi by changing methylsalicylate into salicylic acid, and remove foul smell by methylsalicylate. The disinfectant composition comprises 10-50 wt.% of a mixture of methylsalicylate represented by the formula(1) and isothiazolones represented by the formula(2) in a weight ratio of 3:1 to 7:1, and 50-90 wt.% of water or glycol, wherein R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen, halogen atom, C1-C4 alkyl group, or cyclic aryl group; R3 is hydrogen, C1-C18 alkyl group, C2-C18 alkenyl group, C2-C18 alkynyl group, C3-C12 cycloalkyl group having 3-8 rings, C10-C24 aralkyl group or C10-C24 aryl group; the composition has pH 2-6, and synergy index of 0.1-0.7; and the composition has the sterilization effects on Enterobacter aerogens, Escherichia coli, Micrococcus luteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus epidermis. |
