Organo-Imino molybdenum complexes are disclosed having the formula Z<SUB>2</SUB>N<SUB>2</SUB>MOS<SUB>4</SUB>C<SUB>2</SUB>N<SUB>2</SUB>R<SUB>4 </SUB>wherein Z and R are independently selected from the group consisting of linear hydrocarbon groups, branched hydrocarbon groups, cyclic hydrocarbon groups, and mixtures thereof. The compounds are useful as friction modifiers in lubricants.
