A banking server for performing a password holding mode and an operation method thereof are provided to stop transaction with a banking card even if a password of the banking card is inputted from a customer by temporarily holding the password of the banking card according to a request of the customer. A customer database(210) stores a name, a resident registration number, the password, a phone number, a customer ID, an account number, a banking card number, and a credit level of the customer. A password holding database(208) stores a serial number, a unique ID, and an ID number of a password holding terminal having a right for requesting the password holding mode for stopping the transaction with the banking card, and the banking card number to be held. A timer(206) outputs a termination interrupt signal in a holding cancellation time by counting time of the password holding mode. A controller(202) stops the transaction with the banking card if the password holding mode is requested to the banking card.
