The present invention is related to a portable nopal dethorning machine mainly used in retail nopal points of sale. The dethorning machine comprises two self-adjustable cutting rollers, two self-adjustable traction-compression rollers, a residue fender covering each cutting roller, two trays for collecting and removing residues, and a control panel for regulating the machine operation. The whole elements are mounted into a two-portion assembled structure, which can be easily dismounted for the cleansing thereof. The inventive machine dethornes both sides of the prickly pear by manually locating it on the machine upper portion, and subsequently vertically passing it along said machine so as to be removed from the lower portion thereof.
