A computer system and a control method thereof are provided to effectively reduce noises by adjusting a disk rotation speed of an HDD(Hard Disk Drive) based on a rotation speed of a cooling fan. A fan operation unit(130) is equipped with the cooling fan. A disk operation unit(150) is equipped with a disk, and reads and writes data from the disk by rotating the disk. A speed determiner(140) determines the rotation speed of the cooling fan. A controller(160) reduces the rotation speed of the disk by controlling the fan operation unit if the rotation speed of the cooling fan is over a predetermined value. The disk operation unit is an ODD(Optical Disk Drive).
