A package for mounting an LED(light emitting diode) is provided to eliminate the necessity of an additional protection device in mounting an LED by including a built-in varistor in an LED package made of a zinc oxide-based oxide such that the varistor protects the LED from static electricity or a surge. A package for mounting an LED is formed by stacking a plurality of zinc oxide-based varistor green sheets(110,120,130,140,150). A layer having an LED electrode and a ground electrode to which an LED chip is attached and a layer having at least one varistor electrode are stacked in the varistor green sheet. The LED electrode and the varistor electrode can be interconnected in parallel. A plurality of electrodes for mounting the LED can be formed on the green sheet having the LED electrode.
