The drying equipment is for particulate material, such as woodchips, sawdust, cutter dust, bark, animal dung and straw. It comprises a vertically orientated tubular container wall, over the top of which material is fed and in its under part has an air-permeable bottom wall, through which air is blown upwards in counter flow to the material. A stirring device stirs the material during air drying. The container has at least three vertically separated gas-permeable bottom walls. A stirring rotor is arranged immediately above each bottom wall. Each rotor has at least two peripherally separated vanes. At least the uppermost pair of bottom walls has material throughflow apertures which are separated from each other in a peripheral direction.
