SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ANALYZING COVERAGE OF WIRELESS NETWORK

A system for analyzing a coverage of a wireless network and a method thereof are provided to reduce an analysis time by eliminating a power control procedure and to provide a definite analysis result by preventing extraction of an indefinite analysis result caused by overlapped traffic distribution. A system for analyzing a coverage of a wireless network comprises a path loss analyzing unit(110), an RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) calculating unit(120), a handoff area determining unit(130), a traffic distributing unit(140), a bit energy calculating unit(150) and a coverage extracting unit(160). The path loss analyzing unit(110) calculates a path loss of an electric wave expressing a signal attenuation degree from each base station sector on each bin by applying an electric wave environment of a wireless network. The RSSI calculating unit(120) calculates RSSI of each bin by using previously inputted traffic power information of each base station sector and the calculated path loss. The handoff area determining unit(130) calculates a signal quality value of a pilot channel on the sector of the base station for each bin by using the RSSI, and determines the handoff area and the service area of each sector on the basis of the calculated signal quality value. The traffic distributing unit(140) calculates traffic allocated per each bin for regularly distributing the allocated traffic to the bins included in a corresponding sector by using previously inputted traffic allocated to each sector. The traffic distributing unit(140) distributes traffic to bins of the handoff area wherein the traffic is matched with an average of the traffic allocated per the bin of each sector which serves a corresponding handoff area. The traffic distributing unit(140) regularly distributes remaining traffic to bins of a non-handoff area wherein the remaining traffic is resulted from exception of the traffic distributed in the handoff area from the overall allocated traffic of one sector which serves a corresponding area.
