Provided is a crosslinkable flame retardant insulating material composition to improve extrusion, appearance characteristics, mechanical properties, heat resistance, oil resistance and flame retardancy and to inhibit the generation of scorch. The composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a base resin which is a copolymer resin selected from the ethylene-vinyl acetate bonded with an unsaturated organic silane and containing 9-33 wt% of vinyl acetate, the ethylene-ethyl acrylate bonded with an unsaturated organic silane and containing 9-33 wt% of ethyl acrylate, the ethylene-methyl methacrylate containing 9-33 wt% of methyl methacrylate, and the ethylene-butyl acrylate containing 9-33 wt% of butyl acrylate; 50-250 parts by weight of at least one inorganic flame retardant selected from magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide surface-treated with one material selected from vinyl silane, stearic acid, oleic acid, aminopolysiloxane and polymer resin; 20-30 parts by weight of a flame retardant aid selected from silicone-based or zinc-based compound surface-treated with one material selected from vinyl silane, stearic acid, oleic acid, aminopolysiloxane and polymer resin; and 0.2-5 parts by weight of a phenylmethoxysilane crosslinkable retarder represented by XnSi(OR)_(4-n), wherein X is a phenyl group; R is a methyl group; and n is an integer of 1-3. |
