The method involves transmitting a request by a tunnel client (A) to a tunnel server (A`) e.g. web server, via a tunnel (T) to obtain references of a pair comprising an Internet protocol (IP) address and a public port. A process of encapsulation of data with the request is accomplished. The server transmits a response to the client which transmits another request to a determined entity e.g. session initiation protocol (SIP) server, with an instruction to direct the response to the latter request. The server transmits the response to the entity and then a response from the entity to the client. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method of transmitting a data stream.
