PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for alkaline battery of which oxidation power of a cathode is especially strong, the separator which has excellent electrolyte solution retaining property and sufficient oxidation resistant property without swelling, thereby improving both discharging function and preservation function of a battery, and also to provide an alkaline battery.
