PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve problems in an air conditioner having a function of carrying out automatic cleaning by a suction nozzle capable of changing suction places, wherein since the automatic cleaning of an air filter is carried out by automatically reciprocating the suction nozzle for a predetermined time and a predetermined number of times when the air conditioner is continuously operated for a long period of time, cleaning is carried out more than necessary for a user carrying out operation at a low air amount, and the number of times of cleaning tends to be insufficient for a user carrying out operation at a high air amount. SOLUTION: The reciprocation times of the suction nozzle during filter cleaning can be determined by a user by a remote control or the like, and by correcting timing for carrying out filter cleaning in response to cumulative operation time of a fan motor, convenience of the user is improved, and filter can be cleaned at timing responding to the amount of dust.
