PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus wherein an outside dimension of an IPS display panel can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: The display apparatus has a liquid crystal display panel wherein a liquid crystal material is interposed between two substrates. In the liquid crystal display panel, a first substrate has transistor elements, pixel electrodes and a common electrode, a second substrate has a conductive layer and at least one side of both substrates are superposed on each other. The second substrate has the conductive layer on the backside of the surface opposed to the first substrate and the first substrate is electrically independent of the pixel electrodes and has a ground wiring line having one end thereof in the vicinity of the superposed sides of both substrates. The conductive layer and the ground wiring line are electrically connected to each other by using a conductive material reaching the conductive layer from a part between both substrates through an end surface of the second substrate at the superposed sides of both substrates.
