An optical information copy method using total reflection and a copy apparatus therefor are provided to copy optical information capable of being reproduced without a phase conjugated wave. A beam splitter(230) splits a beam emitted from a light source(210) into the first reference beam and the second reference beam. The first multiplexer(240) receives the first reference beam and multiplexes a master holographic recording medium(160). The second multiplexer(250) receives the second reference beam and multiplexes a target holographic recording medium(280). The first reference beam is inputted at a certain incident angle from one surface side of the master holographic recording medium(160) to an internal part through the first multiplexer(240). The total reflection of the first reference beam is performed in the master holographic recording medium(160). A signal beam is reproduced at one surface side of the target holographic recording medium(280). The second reference beam is inputted from the other surface side of the target holographic recording medium(280) to an internal part through the second multiplexer(250). An interference pattern between the signal beam and the second reference beam is recorded in the target holographic recording medium(280).
