END STRUCTURE OF SLIDING DOOR, END MEMBER, AND SLIDING DOOR USING THE END MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end structure of a sliding door with extremely high safety which securely prevents a finger from being injured even if the finger is pinched between the sliding door and a column or the sliding doors.

SOLUTION: A retreated part 30 with a retreated hard part forming an outer edge is formed in a predetermined position in a longitudinal direction at an end on the opening and closing direction side of the sliding door 10, a cushioning member 24 is mounted to the retreated part 30 so that the hard part functions as a fitting piece (stopper) and the cushioning member 24 mounted to the retreated part 30 is not collapsed even if the sliding door 10 is violently pressed to a column 14c when opening and closing the sliding door 10. Accordingly, the cushioning member 24 does not lose an impact absorbing function, the finger is securely prevented from being injured even if fingers or toes are accidentaly pinched between the sliding door 10 and the column 14c when opening and closing the sliding door 10.
