<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional container causes food to stick to or drops of moisture to accumulate on the inside of a conventional container. <P>SOLUTION: The food container includes an outer container that is open at the top, an inner container that is open at the top, freely removably disposed in the outer container and capable of storing food in it, and a lid placed over the outer lid. The inner container is of a set up type, which is freely folded or unfolded. The inner container set up has a bottom plate, peripheral walls, edges and ears. The inner container is disposed in the outer container such that the bottom plate and peripheral walls are accommodated in the outer container, the edges are placed over the top faces of the side walls of the outer container, and the ears are suspended over the external faces of the side walls of the outer container. In the food container, overlap flaps extend widthwise from the peripheral walls of the inner container so as to be folded over the outside of each of the adjacent peripheral walls of the inner container. The bottom plate and/or peripheral walls of the inner container has through-holes that admit liquid or gas to pass through. A space for air passage and/or item accommodation is defined between the outer container and an inner container accommodated in the outer container.
