摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an aluminum electrode foil for an electrolytic capacitor, which causes little outage (loss) of the surface of the foil, can increase the electrostatic capacity, and can improve the bending strength even if a quantity of electricity increases, by setting current densities for a first and a second process and appropriately determining the ratio of occurrence of through pits to that of non-through pits, when etch-processing a thick aluminum foil. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an aluminum electrode foil for an electrolytic capacitor includes a first process of forming the through-pits, a second process of forming the non-through-pits, and a third process of enlarging the pits formed in the first and second processes. The ratio of the occurrence of through-pits to that of non-through pits is in the range of 25:75 to 35:65. The first process is a process, wherein a current having a density of 30-40 mA/cm<SP>2</SP>is applied in an aqueous solution containing chlorine ions, etc., and the second process is a process, wherein a current having a density of 100-150 mA/cm<SP>2</SP>is applied in an aqueous solution containing chlorine ions, etc.; and the aqueous solution is at a temperature of 60-85°C.
