PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for restoring data of an optical disk drive. SOLUTION: This invention provides a method for restoring the data of the optical disk drive for decoding a channel bit string saved in one disk by PRML detection. Different from a conventional technique, a detected RF signal is not directly decoded but decoded after a part of the RF signal has been adjusted up to an ideal RF signal level, and thereby a decoding error rate in the channel bit is made to decrease. This method includes the processes for: detecting a first RF signal string; deciding whether or not the RF signal string corresponds with a signal bit string on a specific condition; adjusting two or more RF signals in the first RF signal string to a specific ideal RF signal; forming a second RF signal string; and thereafter decoding and fetching it.
