PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To announce theft by ringing of a buzzer when an article stored in a case is taken out. SOLUTION: This theft prevention device is comprised of: the case K having an opening 1 for putting in/out of the article; a guide means B provided to the case in the opposite direction of the opening from the opening; an insertion member 4 guided by the guide means and inserted so as to slide; a stopper 6 provided on the side edge of the opening of the insertion member so as to inhibit extraction of the article; and a locking means C provided to the case or the opposite surface between the guide means and the insertion member so as to stop slide of the insertion member in the bail-out direction in accordance with termination of insertion of the insertion member. A structure of providing the insertion member with an alarm buzzer 22 which holds power supply and an ON, OFF switch 23 of the alarm buzzer, and of facing the switch to the inside of the case so as to be an OFF state by pressing back an action piece 25 of a button 24 of the switch with the article in the case, is adopted.
