PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device which is relatively simple to construct and inexpensive to manufacture, and has long-lasting sealing performance. SOLUTION: The sealing mechanism includes: a ring rotary plate provided inside a cylindrical supporting member and protruded in a flanged shape on the outer periphery of a power transmission shaft for rotating integrally with the power transmission shaft; a ring static plate opposed to the ring rotary plate and held inside the cylindrical supporting member with its outer peripheral face contacting the inner peripheral face of the cylindrical supporting member and having a center hole through which the power transmission shaft is rotatably inserted; and a compressed-air energizing member for elastically thrusting a plurality of positions at peripherally equal spaces on the ring static plate via compressed air to put the ring static plate in pressure contact with the ring rotary plate.
