PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a drum brake device which can improve the productibility, and reduce the occurrence frequency of an assembly defect by positioning a brake shoe to a backing plate with a few parts. SOLUTION: The brake shoes 3 and 4 are pressed against the backing brake 5 and retained expandably. In the brake releasing, each of the brake shoes 3 and 4 employs a spring member 11 in which a spring wire rod is curved in an almost annular shape as a shoe position retaining mechanism to detach each of the brake shoes 3 and 4 from the inside surface. The spring member employs counterbalance support structure to connect each of both ends and an intermediate portion 11c of an annular ring to the backing plate 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
