PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle plate for ink jet head wherein its manufacturing process is shortened while enhancing the yield and achieving cost reduction, by simplifying a process for forming fine irregularities on the surface of the nozzle plate, and also to provide its manufacturing process. SOLUTION: By pressing a press die 27 having a nozzle hole shape pattern 25 and an uneven shape pattern 26, into a material 24 to be processed held by a support 23 in a fluid state until the recesses of the uneven shape pattern are filled with the material 24 and then solidifying the material 24 processed in the fluid state and releasing the mold, a nozzle hole shape 30 corresponding to the nozzle hole shape pattern and an uneven shape 31 corresponding to the uneven shape pattern, are formed in the material 24. Subsequently, not-yet-processed region 32 of the material 24 is removed, the material 24 is stripped from the support, and a water-repellent/ink-repellent layer 34 is formed on the material 24.
