PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording method whereby an image of a high image quality without any incongruous touch in gloss can be formed by a high efficiency to large-size various recording media. SOLUTION: An inkjet recorder is equipped with a carriage, a carriage driving means, an inkjet head, and an irradiation means with an active energy ray generating part which irradiates active energy rays. A mass of both the carriage and an object carried on the carriage is 1-10 kg. A driving force of the carriage driving means for moving the carriage back and forth is 40 N or smaller. In the inkjet recording method, ink which contains water and at least a polymer compound that has a plurality of side chains in a hydrophilic main chain and is capable of cross-linking between the side chains by irradiation of active energy rays is ejected from the inkjet head by using the inkjet recorder, and image formation is carried out by casting the active energy rays onto a recording medium to which the ink is ejected.
