PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working method for a decorative sheet steel, deburring the cut decorative sheet steel while protecting the surface of the decorative sheet steel, and performing a series of folding work. SOLUTION: According to this working method for the decorative sheet steel, while protecting the surface 11 of the decorative sheet steel 1 where a mirror finished surface or a hair line surface is formed on the surface 11, burr 124 of the cut decorative sheet steel 1 is removed. In performing a series of work such as folding, synthetic resin coating having the strippable property is applied to the surface 11 of the decorative sheet steel 1 where burr 124 is caused by cutting, and cured to form a surface protective film 2 on the surface 11 of the decorative sheet steel 1. The decorative sheet steel 1 where the surface protective film 2 is formed is buffed to thereby remove the burrs 124 generated in the cut edge part 121 of the cut part, and with the surface protective film 2 left behind, the sheet steel is shipped, or the decorative sheet steel 1 where the surface protective film 2 is formed is folded intact at need.
