摘要 <p>Disclosed are: a hydrophilic polymer microparticle which shows reduced swelling in an aqueous medium and is excellent in dispersibility in an aqueous medium; a filler for ion exchange liquid chromatography, which can reduce the non-specific adsorption of a protein or the like effectively; a method for analysis of glycosylated hemoglobin using the filler; a method for production of a filler for ion exchange liquid chromatography, which can retain an effect of reducing swelling, non-specific adsorption or the like for a prolonged period of time; a filler for ion exchange liquid chromatography, which is produced by a production method for a filler for ion exchange liquid chromatography; and a filler for ion exchange liquid chromatography, which is intended to be used for the analysis of glycosylated hemoglobin. When the particle size of the hydrophilic polymer microparticle is determined on a particle size distribution analyzer after dispersing the microparticle in water or acetone, irradiating the dispersion solution with an ultrasonic wave for 15 minutes and then allowing the solution to stand at 25°C for 240 hours to equilibrate the solution, the microparticle has a D<SUB>w</SUB>/D<SUB>A</SUB> ratio of 2.0 or less, wherein D<SUB>w</SUB> represents a particle diameter of the microparticle as measured when dispersed in water and D<SUB>A</SUB> represents a particle diameter of the microparticle as measured when dispersed in acetone. Further, when the hydrophilic polymer microparticles are arranged into a single layer with leaving no space between the microparticles and a droplet of pure water is formed on the single layer of the microparticles, the water contact angle as measured on a contact angle meter at 25°C is 70° or higher.</p>
