<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable use of a polymer powder in the mold-less molding method by harmonizing contradictory properties of a low melting point and low viscosity. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a solid structural member by using such a powder that each range of respective powder layers is selectively fused through an introduction of electromagnetic energy, the powder comprises at least one polyester produced by polycondensation of a dihydric or polyhydric aliphatic alcohol and an aliphatic diacid. The temperature for manufacturing a structural member having a uniform density is undoubtedly lower than the processing temperature of polyamide 12 which is currently mass-produced normally.
