<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve division management that prevents confidential information from being leaked by the transmission of image data from an image forming apparatus to the outside and that makes effective use of HDD resources used in the filing function of the image forming apparatus, while enabling refined management based on the kind of recording paper used in the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Division management information consisting of the identification information of a division where the image forming apparatus is used and use limit information about the division is registered in advance and stored in a division management information storage part 240. Once the division identification information is input by a user, the division management information stored in the division management information storage part 240 is referred to for authentication. The use limit information corresponding to the input division identification information is transmitted to a division management control part 280.
