PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the circuit scale of a timing pulse generating apparatus for generating a timing pulse used for driving a solid-state imaging device and/or attaining a high speed operation of the solid-state imaging device. SOLUTION: The timing pulse generating apparatus for the solid-state imaging device is configured, which includes: a first counter 8 for counting a horizontal synchronizing signal initialized by a vertical synchronizing signal; a second counter 9 for counting a trigger pulse initialized by the horizontal synchronizing signal; and a pulse generating means 4 that generates the timing pulse depending on a count of the first counter and a count of the second counter and outputs the timing pulse to the solid-state imaging device.
