PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical pendulum type sensor which can arbitrarily set the natural frequency of a pendulum body within a range from a few tenth of a Hz to ten-odd Hz, especially, from 1 Hz to 12 Hz and achieve downsizing and lightweight. SOLUTION: The pendulum type sensor comprises a weight body having mass distribution in a housing, the pendulum body in which the center of gravity and rotation axis center of the weight body are provided at a predetermined distance, and a means for detecting the rotational position or angle of the pendulum body. The pendulum type sensor detects the rotational position or angle of the pendulum body by the detection means provided in the housing and the pendulum body. The natural frequency of the pendulum body is set to be 1.0 Hz to 12 Hz, and r/L≥1, more preferably, r/L≥3, wherein r is the average mass distribution equivalent radius of the mass distribution of the weight body, and L is the distance between the center of gravity and rotation axis center of the weight body.
