PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition stabilizing liquid crystal molecules even when the liquid crystal molecules are activated by radical formation, etc., resulting from receiving of irradiation of light and preventing or suppressing an intermolecular reaction or a reaction with other materials and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises a liquid crystal material and a radical scavenger.
