The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a polarized optical article, in particular a polarized ophthalmic lens, comprising at least the successive steps consisting respectively in: applying, to a constituent substrate of the optical article, a coating comprising at least one dye that is sensitive to photodegradation; and introducing, by imbibition, a UV absorber into said coating. The invention also relates to the optical article capable of being obtained according to this method.
