PURPOSE:Title compounds of formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl, aralkyl; R3 is H, lower alkyl, aralkyl, with the proviso that when R3 is lower alkyl R1 is not H) and acid addition salts thereof; for example, 1-methyl-5-(3-benzylamino-2-hydroxypropoxy)-8-benzyloxy-3,4-dihydrocar boxtyril hydrochloride.
