<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery image processing apparatus or the like, capable of supporting recognition of a moving object by a driver, by displaying the presence of the moving object on a perspective image display screen, resulting from compositing of images obtained by picking up a vehicle periphery (e.g., rearward of vehicle) for the driver in an easy to understand way. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile object detection section 33 of an image processing unit 3 detects the moving object, on the basis of the image data (photographed image) imaged by a camera 1 for imaging the rearward images of own vehicle. Then an emphasized display image, indicating the presence of the detected moving object, is composited with a bird's-eye image generated by a bird's-eye image generating section 31 on the basis of the photographed image by the camera 1, and the composited bird's-eye image is displayed on an on-vehicle monitor 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
