<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline battery of high reliability having small internal resistance, superior large load discharge characteristics, and excellent safety. <P>SOLUTION: The alkaline battery is equipped with a power generating element including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and an electrolytic liquid, a positive electrode terminal part connected electrically to the positive electrode, and a negative electrode terminal part connected electrically to the negative electrode. The positive electrode contains as an active material at least nickel oxy-hydroxide powder, and a PTC element is provided at a current flowing route to which the electrolytic liquid does not contact in at least one between the positive electrode and the positive electrode terminal part and between the negative electrode and the negative electrode terminal part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
