<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of surfaces of sheets printed with color pages without permuting print pages when print data for mixed monochrome and color pages is printed into a booklet split into a plurality of parts by a single printing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the control of a printing apparatus capable of booklet printing that prints two pages of print data assigned to each surface of sheets, it is determined whether each page (logical page) printed by printing instructions is a monochrome page or a color page, all possible split positions (A and B) are enumerated for booklet printing that splits a single booklet into a plurality of parts according to the determination results, a split position (B) that reduces the number of sides printed with logical pages for color pages is selected from among the split positions, and the plurality of parts are split in the split position for the booklet printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
