PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die for press brakes which can be held accurately and stably with a clamping device, and also to provide a method of manufacturing it. SOLUTION: For example, a punch 6 is provided with an engaging groove 23A which is engaged with a projection 15a provided on a movable clamping member 15 of the clamping device 9, wherein the engaging groove 23A is formed into a V-shape having a first slope 25A and a second reference surface 26A which are formed into facial symmetry each other about the center surface 24. When finishing this engaging groove 23A, grinding is performed by using a form grinding wheel 32 formed into a shape conforming to the engaging groove 23A.
