PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest device of a chair which enables a headrest mounting member to be strongly attached to a backrest frame by a simple structure, especially so as to powerfully prevent a backward tilting of the headrest. SOLUTION: A headrest mounting member 8 which supports a headrest 9 is attached to a rear upper horizontal lever 4 directed to right and left at the upper end of a backrest frame 5 of a chair, and the front end of an arm member 27 which projects forward from the headrest mounting member 8 is made abut on a front upper horizontal rod 3 which is a component member of the backrest and located ahead of the upper back horizontal lever 4.
