PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest device of chair which enables a headrest move up and down smoothly even though a holding member or a headrest supporting rod are not processed with high degree of accuracy, and can be manufactured at low cost, and has a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: A headrest supporting rod 10 hung from the bottom end of a headrest 9 is fitted to a cylindrical holding member 11 which is directed up and down and is provided at the upper part of a backrest of a chair so as to slide up and down, and both right and left sides of the inner surface of the holding member 11 is provided with a guide means 41 including a plurality of slide contact members 39 which are vertically separated and can make slide contact with both right and left side edges of the headrest supporting rod 10, and an elastomer 40 which is provided, contracted between each slide contact member 39 and the inner surface of the holding member 11 are provided in both right/left sides.
