PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bio-remediation technology suitable for cleaning actually contaminated soil. SOLUTION: The microorganisms belonging to the genus Rhodococcus or Gordonia has a capacity of making the number of soil bacteria at or more than a prescribed value, obtained based on the DNA amounts per unit weight of specimen collected from the soil, and the method for screening the soil-cleaning microorganisms is provided by performing an evaluation of the microorganisms by taking the amounts of the DNA obtained based on the unit weight of the specimen as indices. Also, the method for soil-cleaning is provided by performing the soil-cleaning treatment by taking the number of the soil bacteria obtained based on the DNA amounts per unit weight of the specimen collected from the soil, as the indices.
