PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel capable of solving various problems caused by oscillation generated on reversely rotating a rotor, and also excellent in the durability of spool-reciprocating device and freedom in the reverse rotation of the rotor. SOLUTION: This spinning reel is provided by being equipped with a rotor 3 having a fishing line-guiding part 3d rotating corresponding with the rotary operation of a handle shaft 5 and guiding the fishing line to the spool 4, a spool shaft 12 attached with a spool 4 at its tip end and a spool-reciprocating device 13 for converting the rotary operational movements of the handle shaft 5 to the front and rear reciprocating movements of the spool shaft 12, and enabling the control of a power transmission passage in the spool reciprocating device 13 so that the spool shaft 12 does not make the reciprocating movement on the rotation of the rotor 3 for drawing the fishing line from the spool 4.
