METHOD FOR PROPAGATION OF PLANT

The object is to provide a novel method which enables the mass propagation of a plant belonging to the family Araceae, Bromeliaceae or Marantaceae. Disclosed are: a method for production of an embryogenic callus comprising the step of cultivating, as an explant, a sheath of a plant selected from the group consisting of plants belonging to the families Araceae, Bromeliaceae and Marantaceae or a part thereof to induce an embryogenic callus; and a method for propagation of a plant through the induction of an embryoid from an embryogenic callus produced by the process.
