<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method and a measuring instrument capable of obtaining an objective measured result without using a toxic reagent, and capable of measuring accurately and easily a residual chlorine without being affected by a potential window. <P>SOLUTION: In this residual chlorine measuring method, a counter electrode 4, a working electrode 2 and a reference electrode 3 are brought into contact with a sample solution containing the residual chlorine to be measured, a voltage is applied between the counter electrode 4 and the working electrode 2, and a current value is measured under the voltage to calculate a concentration of the residual chlorine. The working electrode 2 is a conductive diamond electrode doped with boron, the reference electrode 3 is a silver/silver chloride electrode, and the current value is measured when bringing a potential of the conductive diamond electrode 2 to the silver/silver chloride electrode 3 into +0.5 V to +1.5 V, in the method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
