<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst capable of suppressing the precipitation of palladium by the metallization of palladium oxide (PdO) and maintaining its high catalyst activity in a high temperature atmosphere of higher than 800°C and a method for preparing the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification catalyst comprises a carrier 4, platinum (Pt) 7 deposited on the carrier 4, and a fixing agent comprising an oxide of a lanthanoid (LnOx) 5 and palladium oxide (PdO) 6 that is formed and disposed in the periphery of platinum (Pt) 7 and suppresses the agglomeration of neighboring platinum (Pt) 7 particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
