<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an efficient overvoltage protection circuit adopting a simple drive circuit system. <P>SOLUTION: A high voltage-side line Lnh and a low voltage-side line Lnl as power supply lines supply the power supply output of a power supply circuit 1 to a load circuit 2. A switch element 11 for connecting/disconnecting a line is inserted in series to the low voltage-side line Lnl. A p-channel MOS-FET is selected for this switch element 11. This prevents a supply voltage level from being steadily applied to the switch element 11 and the load on the element is reduced.
