PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation unit capable of searching highly precisely a route, while taking the lapse of time in moving into consideration, and a navigation system using the same. SOLUTION: This navigation unit is provided with traffic information table data 24d, 51d, a CPU 25, a retrieval processing part 35b, and a display 16. The traffic information table data 24d, 51d store a plurality of traffic information tables set with a required time to an optional area using each area as a starting area, in the every area and at every time. The CPU 25 retrieves a desired facility, and determines the area including the facility as an objective area. The retrieval processing part 35b selects the traffic information table corresponding to the start area including the present point and the start time therein as the using table, out of the plurality of traffic information tables.
