PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-frequency radio communication system and high-frequency radio communication method in which synchronous detection can be performed, even when a high-frequency millimeter-wave signal is used. SOLUTION: A transmitter 1 comprises a first transmitter antenna 13 for radiating a signal of a frequency f1 generated by an oscillator 11, a modulator 15 for superimposing data signal on the signal of a frequency f2, generated by multiplying the frequency f1 of the signal generated by the oscillator by N-fold by a frequency multiplier 14, and a second transmitter antenna 17 for radiating the modulated signal. A receiver 2 comprises a frequency multiplier 23 for generating the signal of the frequency f2 by multiplying the frequency f1 of the signal, obtained by receiving at a first receiver antenna 21 by N-fold; a variable delayer 24 for adjusting the phase of the generated signal, and a mixer 28 for demodulating the data signal, by receiving the radiated signal as an RF signal at a second receiver antenna 26 and using a signal from the variable delayer as an LO signal.
