PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking type monitoring system allowing easy prediction of an advance direction of an intruder without performing complicated image signal processing to certainly track the intruder. SOLUTION: This tracking type monitoring system has an advance direction prediction database 202 preset with advance direction information for predicting any monitoring target area to which the intruder next advances correspondingly to each the monitoring target area when the intruder 100 intrudes in one monitoring target area. A monitoring screen control display device 301 makes a display device e disposed in a central part of a monitoring screen display a video photographed by a monitoring camera installed in the monitoring target area wherein the intruder 100 is detected, and also makes a display device disposed around the display device e disposed in the central part display the video photographed by the monitoring camera installed in the monitoring target area in an advance prediction direction of the intruder based on the advance direction prediction database 202.
